Summary0010724: LSI Reject Reason: Color Book interior file is not PDF/X-1a:2001 compliant
DescriptionI tried to meet the LSI requirements, (as recommended here on the scribus list), by building a local copy from fresh svn code, and exporting from Scribus 1.5.1 directly to PDF/X1-a. The export appeared to be uccessful. However, every single time I tried to submit this file, and subsequent files, to LSI, they insisted the file was "not PDF/X1-:2001 compliant".
Steps To ReproduceBuild Scribus 1.5.0 from svn sources.

Open sla file.

Export as PDF/X-1a:2001

Submit to LSI.
Additional InformationSample PDF/X-1a:2001 file attached for analysis.

The attached file is a text file, it is not a PDF at all.

The reason for the text file is that when I tried to upload the PDF I received "an error", then I was unable to submit the ticket without a file attached. So I created a dummy placeholder file to attach to get past Mantis' dubious logic. My apologies for any confusion.

I checked your PDF with Acrobat X preflight tools. Acrobat X preflight does not report any warning or error vs PDF/X-1a compliancy.

Hmmm, that's wierd, but thank you for checking. Perhaps it points to LSI stipulating something else without saying so. Along the lines of Aaron's post on the topic from Apr. 20, 2011:

File format. Lightning requires all files for color books to comply with the
PDF/X-1a standard *and* to be produced with Acrobat Distiller.

I have no idea if that's "from the horse's mouth", or mere hearsay.
