I just tried this with 1.4.3svn.
At first seemed Ok, so then I made another group, did it again, and then bad things happened.
I think the problem comes from deleting a member of a group -- not sure what the normal behavior should be.
Check this badbehave.sla doc I upload...the groups are present even though I deleted some members, and there is/was an image frame at the bottom of the page that you can select but otherwise not see.
It seems it can be fixed by ungrouping the 2 groups, after which the present/missing image frame appears.

In this badbehave.sla, click the bottom area of the page to locate the "invisible" image frame, then right-click to load an image. You won't see the image.
Next, select a group at the top of the page, then Ungroup.
Select again, and Ungroup again, and your image will appear in that bottom frame.

I uploaded another sample SLA that might be related : it includes only ONE text frame. Delete the 'AAA' text constituting the first line, and whole text disappear.

I say it might be related since this buggy text frame behaviour appeared in document a little while after i deleted one frame being part of a group.

Might be related : Using the "document outline" window, its possible to copy one member frame of a group, and paste it outside the group.
When doing this, it is possible to edit the pasted frame and as such it behaves as a normal text element, but it appears as a "group" in the "document outline" window.

Initial report is fixed : deleting item in group does not delete whole group.
There is an issue with undoing it : 0012555

As with "badbehave.sla" gpittman's report :
there is truely an issue with "badbehave.sla", but the bug happened during the edit creating this SLA. Without knowing precisely the steps that led to this SLA, i'm afraid there is not much to be done about it, all the more since it could have been fixed since.

As with Jluc "delete AAA and see what happens.sla" report :
I tried and couldnt reproduce. there is no more than this one "AAA" line as text, so i dont understand what other "whole text" could disappear.

As with JLuc's 13-Jan-25 comment, it's now fixed.
