Platform | Linux | OS | Ubuntu | OS Version | 12.10 |
Product Version | 1.4.2 | ||||
Target Version | 1.5.2 | Fixed in Version | 1.5.2.svn
Summary | 0011573: Opening SLA crashes scribus (sla maybe corrupted)
Description | ( EDIT : title was "applying or deleting masterpages crashes with signal 11" ) My version is actually 1.4.1 svn Whenever I try to delete a masterpage (I am not using any of the masterpages apart from Normal Left and Normal Right at present, scribus crashes. By now to the point that I cannot open the file or the autosave file any longer.
Steps To Reproduce | Right now: open document- crash signal 11 Before: Edit Masterpages, delete Masterpage other than Normal Left or Normal right - crash signal 11
Additional Information | I saved file between masterchange edits. After previous crashes, I restarted ubuntu and scribus, re-opened an autosaved file and then saved in under a different name. Now I can't even open the last file any more. The last existing file that I can open is an autosave file also attached called buy_local_master_try. That's before edits of the other masterpages.

I cannot reproduce this issue in 1.4.2 or current 1.4.3svn. |
|
I upgraded to 1.5.0 because my Ubuntu didn't let me upgrade to 1.4.2 Now I can't open these files any longer. When I start then they crash with signal 11. Any ideas? |

I can reproduce this issue: With Scribus 1.4.4 SVN (18927): buy_local_8point5.sla + buy_local_8point5.sla.autosave > Scribus cannot read it and pops-out "Fatal Error" warning: File ... is not in an acceptable format. The file may be damaged or may have been produced in a later version of Scribus. buy_local_master_try.sla.autosave > Scribus can open it but deleting Masterpages does not crash Scribus. With Scribus 1.5.0 SVN (18928): buy_local_8point5.sla + buy_local_8point5.sla.autosave > Scribus crashes due to Signal 11 (I'll provide a backtrace in the following Note). buy_local_master_try.sla.autosave > Scribus can open it but the drawings are modified (see the screenshot "OpenTest"). |

I reproduce crash with buy_local_8point5.sla |
|
The issue with opentest.png is a problem in scribus 1.5 with some scribus 1.4 imported SVGs : see 0012766. That issue has been reported in several reports allready. It could be that in some files, this issue crashes scribus. |
|
The bug by itself is not reproducible which applying or deleting masterpages crashes with signal 11. However, the attached file crashes scribus. I am using 1.5.1 svn r20488 |
|
Can confirm still crashes 1.5.1svn r20488 Qt5.5.1 Added a backtrace * thread 0000001: tid = 0x13c5fd, 0x000000010e011acd libscribus150format.so`PageItem_NoteFrame::setMaster(PageItem*) + 9, queue = 'com.apple.main-thread', stop reason = EXC_BAD_ACCESS (code=1, address=0x0) frame #0: 0x000000010e011acd libscribus150format.so`PageItem_NoteFrame::setMaster(PageItem*) + 9 libscribus150format.so`PageItem_NoteFrame::setMaster: Edit: Clarity I agree with Fahad "reproduce the bug by itself is not reproducible which applying or deleting masterpages crashes with signal 11. OP, can you still reproduce this on version 1.5.1svn ? |
|
I can't recreate the conditions for the crash, but the SLA still crashes. So perhaps the initial bug is fixed and the corruption in the SLA needs to be addressed ? |
|
Franz fixed the crash in the original SLA in r21202 Also OpenTest.png phenomena not present. OX 10.10.5 1.5.2svn r21207 |
