Summary0003858: Zoom doesn't recognise cursor placement
DescriptionWhile zooming a doc with a selected item correctly keeps the focus on the item, this not true for a cursor in a text frame. Scribus should also recognise cursor placement when zooming.
Steps To ReproduceCreate a large text frame, insert/load text, switch to text edit mode, zoom > Scribus doesn't keep the focus on the cursor.

In 1.4.3, the zoom function doesn't rely on the focussed element anymore but on the mouse cursor, so IMHO this issue may be closed.

I'm afraid it's not allways OK,

It's not OK on 1.5 svn, where CTRL+mouswheel zooms toward center of frame, not toward edit cursor.

On trackpad, if you create several text frames and you zoom in and out and change the active text frame, scribus will correctly zoom in and out on the focused element.
Perhaps in certain conditions, like certain elements on the page or with a mouse, this is not true but I have yet to encounter them.

Actually i recently discovered it is possible to zoom toward mouse : when no object object is selected. I'm glad i discovered this because it will enable to zoom toward goal.

However, it unfriendly because it requires to exit all edit operation and unselect selected objects to be able to zoom toward precise position in a frame or page.

Here are conditions where the zoom doesnt follow neither the mouse pointer nor the editing cursor :

1) when a text frame is selected but is not in edit mode, zoom goes toward center of it, not toward mouse pointer

2) also when a text frame is currently being edited (editing carret blinks), zoom goes toward center of it.

3) same for image frames
