Summary | 0005462: Request for feature: Save and reuse gradient settings
Description | In Inkscape, creating a gradient saves it in a "Gradient Library" where the same gradient can be reused for another shape, and when modified, affects all objects with said gradient. Although some shapes are created in Inkscape, some need to be created in Scribus, but gradient settings need to be painfully recreated for a new object, and changes affecting many objects are very time consuming. Did I miss something or is there a way to save gradients and reuse them, and if not, is someone working on such a project¿

Think "style" here? ;) Or more precisely: "fill style". |
It seems that "Styles" do not include anything related to a style/fill style library (it appears only to apply to text frames anyway). Could you be more explicit on what steps you perform to save and reuse a gradient as I could not find it? |
That's currently not possible. I think we need something like Indesign swatches palette where user can manage and edit brushes (solid, gradient, patterns...) |
cedricsagne: I wasn't referring to something that already exists, but to something that would be nice to have, namely the ability of Scribus to create fill styles. See for instance: http://bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=1579 |
Brushes is a more general concept than fill styles as it also applies to strokes |
"Brushes is a more general concept than fill styles as it also applies to strokes" Is there any reason why strokes couldn't have fills in later versions? |
Cause strokes are strokes and fills are fills... Two different things... |
