| Summary | 0006961: big documents (around >50 pages): scribus "jumps around" to anywhere | ||||||||
| Description | i'm working at the moment on an extensive magazine, but when i reached a bigger number of pages, i got the following error: when i try to add a new textframe on a blank page, scribus jumps to anywhere else (mostly to the "negative area" - for example to position x=800pt; y= -130000pt), because of this i can't work any longer :( in terminal i can read the following: X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8 Major opcode: 59 (X_SetClipRectangles) Resource id: 0x1c1ad36 "resource id" is everytime differrent | ||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | - open a new document - add for example 100 pages at the end - go to the last page - try to add a texframe on this page -> it jumps for example to page 23 or anywhere else | ||||||||

Sometimes it helps, when you set the zoom-size to for example to 50% (or another value). |

Could you test with rev. 11988 or later? Commit 11988 may have fixed your issue. |

No, the problem still appears in rev. 12018. |

I think I have the same (or a similar) problem with very similar symptomes. In my case, the total number of levels (and, maybe, objects) exceeded 256 when such behavior appeared. When I deleted some objects, Scribus acted normally again. One workaround is to split the document, but it is rather ugly. PS: I am working with SVN as of May 4 or so. |

I'm testing it now (rev. #13115.) and I cannot reproduce it in any of your descriptions. Can you retest it, please? |

no activity for three years... and haven't heard of such bugs for some time. |
