Which panel? Please be precise and detail exactly how you reproduce this issue. |

:) hmm. You Have created the program so I do not know how to describe it more precise. Open the document I am attaching. Than click in menu File -> Preferences -> Font. Deselect all fonts checked as used except one - it happens to me when I uncheck all except URW Bookman L Demi Bold.
Strange thing is that this time it crashed but it is possible to start application again. During first crash it was not and I had to delete content of .scribus to be able to start application again. |

In menu File -> Preferences -> Font there are three panels. In which one do you deselect font??? You see, it's easy to be more precise... |

In my case there is only one panel which contains font list. The first one - Availible fonts. |

I get Scribus crash every time I try to start it with the above error message (I use XP and 1.3.5.1). The splash screen messages go all the way though the fonts listing and then the main window appears on screen for a fraction of a second and quits. Console mode says:
ASSERT failure in QList<T>::operator[]: "index out of range", file e:\libraries-vc8\qt-4.5.1\include\qtcore\../../src/corelib/tools/qlist.h, line 403
Calling Emergency Save
Scribus Crash
-------------
Scribus crashes due to the following exception : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Strange thing is that until about a week ago this version worked fine for me, since then no reinstall helps, I can't get it to work again. |

Thank you for your help. Deleting the preference folder you described seems to have solved the problem I was experiencing. (Though I have no idea what could have happened in there to cause the problem.) Also, please excuse my referencing another case you had previously resolved. If I had known where to find the resolution you provided at that time I would not have asked a duplicate question. Is there a recommended procedure (and place) for finding the issues you have already dealt with and resolved? Would it help to post such a procedure to FAQ? Or, is it feasible to add a link to issues others have raised (where they are still posted) describing the resolution? All I knew to do after reading the FAQ section was to Google my problem and see what I could find. When I did this I came upon a description of the problem I was experiencing, but I could find no description of or link to a resolution. Again, thank you, and I appologize for taking valuable time on a previously resolved issue. |

Deleting the preferences folder worked also for me, only I found the answer purely accidentally since it is not shown here where the issue is listed. Anyway, I uploaded my zipped prefs folder in case it is of some help for you. |
