Summary0009071: create some site where all scripts will be stored
Descriptioncreate some site where all scripts will be stored
Steps To ReproduceNow some scripts are in scribusstuff.org, scribus.net and elsewhere but it has many disadvantages. There is only couple of scripts and there are some feature missing.

What Scripter store needs:
 - all Scribus scripts not only couple of them
 - information about version
 - information about language
 - simply interface for translators (uploading other language versions)
 - bug reports
 - requirements for missing scripts
 - wiki

- afaik, scribusstuff.org is not related to scribus (well, everybody can create a scribus site...)
- not official scribus script are currently in wiki.scribus.net, the official ones are distributed with scribus itself.
- bug reports, features request and translations should be done through this same bug report system...

my conclusions? if you have an idea we could create a good platform for managing scripts, you're welcome!

othwerise the current solution in the wiki looks ok to me

We plan "Resource Manager" to allow script downloads. Any thoughts on the best way to present this via the web too?

Resource Manager will be part of Scribus? Some window as Ubuntu Music Store in rhythmbox?

It speed up scripts development and spare a lot of time. This would be mainly for developers and translators. For users would be possibly better to integrate store into scribus directly. I don't know.

Resource Manager will manage colours, scripts, etc etc.. like Style Manager manages styles.

wouldn't be better to have a resource manager outside of scribus?

some parts would be scribus/gimp/inskcape/... specific other would be common to all (icc profiles, fonts, colours, ...)

just a thought...

No.. Scribus needs this functionality.. no matter what other apps exist

To cbradney: So... this function will be only in Scribus without internet store (support)?

To ale: This would be very huge project, but it really like to me - some site with fonts, paterns, backgrounds and other svg objects. Via plug-in we could view, search and simply "install" to folder (like now for additional fonts). This project would be shared by all open graphical apps (Scribus, Inkscape, Gimp, Krita, Karbon...). All fonts would be updated and you could see simply what language the font support (for example). This would have substantial disadvantage - all this apps would have to join...

Would OpenClipArt Integration (0001263) be part of resource manager?

Mike, it is clear that the original bug report is not going to be acted upon. You are welcome to re-organize the script storage in the wiki, but no additional site is planned for it. I think the Resource Manager Craig mentioned is outside the scope of this bug report.
