Cannot reproduce. Once the proper encoding is selected in import dialog, accent shows perfectly.

on my computer it works correctly, too.

on the one of Ana we tried several times with both utf-8 and latin1 we didn't succeed.

i will look with her again tomorrow, and if we don't find any way to reproduce it (or to solve the problem) i'll simply close this bug.

thanks jean for looking at it!

Tested on Ubuntu 10.04 + 1.3.7svn, UTF-8 in import dialog selected.
Imports sample:
"s'exécuter le plus vite" instead of "s'exécuter le plus vite"

What importer were you using? CSV or text file? Text file seems to work ok here, but CSV does not.

Can you please test the import before and after building with current 1.5.0svn to see how this compares? I have just committed a change for this and can backport that if successful.

I was using CSV importer (automatic). Text importer gives right result: s'exécuter le plus vite

Sorry, but I have no built version 1.5.0 now, cause previous build have error that weren't resolved (http://bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=9030#c23751). I.e. I have files built on my previous OS version, but they don't seem to work properly.
I can only try to build current svn.

Craig's fix has now been backported to 1.3.7svn!
