Summary0009556: gcc changes in natty make scribus fail to build
DescriptionTrying to build scribus in natty ends with:
Linking CXX executable scribus-trunk
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.5.2/../../../../lib/libGraphicsMagick.so: undefined reference to symbol 'cmsCreateTransform'
/usr/bin/ld: note: 'cmsCreateTransform' is defined in DSO /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.5.2/../../../../lib/liblcms.so so try adding it to the linker command line
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.5.2/../../../../lib/liblcms.so: could not read symbols: Invalid operation

This should be the result of https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel-announce/2010-October/000772.html [^]

It seems that reordering the LCMS linking fixes it:

That only fixes amd64 builds though, i386 additionally fails with:
Linking CXX executable scribus-trunk
/usr/bin/ld: CMakeFiles/scribus-trunk.dir/ui/moc_AdapterWidget.cxx.o: undefined reference to symbol 'OpenThreads::Atomic::operator--()'
/usr/bin/ld: note: 'OpenThreads::Atomic::operator--()' is defined in DSO /usr/lib/libOpenThreads.so.13 so try adding it to the linker command line
/usr/lib/libOpenThreads.so.13: could not read symbols: Invalid operation

so -lOpenThreads needs to be added to the linker flags too.

DOes the lcms lib stuff work if you make it:

TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES(${EXE_NAME}
  ${SCRIBUS_COLORMGMT_LIB}
  ${SCRIBUS_DESAXE_LIB}
  ${SCRIBUS_TEXT_LIB}
  ${SCRIBUS_STYLES_LIB}
  ${SCRIBUS_FONTS_LIB}
  ${SCRIBUS_WPG_LIB}
  ${SCRIBUS_PGF_LIB}
  ${LCMS_LIBRARIES}
)

It does, and you're right, simpler solution.

Ok, moved that line.. however I am not convinced of the libOpenThreads.. I don't think we even use that directly.

Resolving, it builds cleanly on 12.04 for sure. Assigning to Jean as lcms/lcms2 are now supported.
