Summary | 0010164: Crash at Start, crash at PDF export
Description | OS: Windows 7 Prof. 64-bit Hardware: Dualcore Notebook with 4 GB RAM and SSD Scribus: 1.4RC5 (I've also tried RC4 and RC3) Ghostscript: 9.04 Photos: Created with Photoshop CS4, Blurb-CMYK-Profile as output intent (Tried JPEG and uncompressed TIFF) I've tried to create a photobook for blurb with 120 pages and 118 photos. After about 20 crashes I had all the photos integrated in the document. When I try to open the document now, Scribus is busy for some minutes, then I see about 100 "Application transferred too few scanlines" errors. And then I see a totally strange looking document. It's impossible to work with the document. With the following workaround I can open the file (reproducible) 1. Rename the 2 photo folders, so that Scribus couldn't find the photos at startup. 2. Start Scribus with the document. 3. Rename the folders to the original name. 4. Click on a photo frame in the document. 5. Wait for 10 Minutes 6. Scribus loads the photos. Everything looks perfect. I can work with the document. When I try to export the document as X-3/PDF, then Scribus crashes after some pages or I also get lots of ""Application transferred too few scanlines" errors. I couldn't find an error log or something like that. After a crash I can see an entry in theIn the windows event viewer. The error was in module "QtCore4.dll, Version: 4.6.3.0" or it was an unkown error. SLA-File is in the attachment. In the past I've made other photobooks with previous versions of Scribus without problems (with more pages/photos). With about 100 crashes in 2 days RC5 is more like a pre-alpha for me :(

«Photos: Created with Photoshop CS4, Blurb-CMYK-Profile as output intent (Tried JPEG and uncompressed TIFF)» "as output intent" makes no sense there. Blurb-CMYK-Profile is the embeeded profile in the JPEGs/TIFFs. And the Blurb-CMYK-Profile was the output intent for the X-3/PDF export. |
