Summary | 0010758: In-frame image scaling and moving
Description | When scaling and moving images within an image frame I think it would be nice to be able to do it "in frame", much like zoom and scroll in most web browsers today. For example it could work like this: -Scroll wheel moves image up/down -Shift-scroll wheel moves image sidaways -Ctrl-scroll wheel scales image Maybe it could even be possible to drag the image inside the frame in this mode.

The moving/panning* part is implemented in 1.5.2svn at least, but the zooming isn't (ctrl+scroll is already used by the document itself...), and I suspect it might be nicer to have "sizing handles" for that, which can go beyond the boundaries of the image frame. So the ideal thing, in my opinion, would be to have the image show "behind the frame boundary" semi-translucent, so you can see what's in the frame and what's not in it, and control the size of it using sizing handles on the "out of boundary" image. *: I filed bug 0013827 and bug 0013828 related to the panning feature. |

Maybe zooming could be done using alt or ctrl + drag. I think this feature suggestion can be combined with mine: https://bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=14549#c43699 |
