Summary0011721: SE defaults when switching away and back to Scribus
DescriptionThe text in the window of the story editor (CTRL-T) goes back to default after losing and regaining focus, meaning that the cursor is set before the first character of the first paragraph of the text.
It is not a serious problem in case of one or two paragraphs, but it makes work difficult in case of several hundred paragraphs.
This behavior makes search function unusable, because after closing the search window the text editor does not display the highlighted text, but the program sets the cursor in front of the first character of the first paragraph, rendering the function unusable.
Steps To Reproduce1) New document
2) Make some text frame, and put some text.
3) Open the story editor and select some text.
4) Alt+Tab -> Select an other application.
5) Alt+Tab -> Select Scribus
Result:
a) The cursor is on the first character. (Fixed in 0012091)
b) highlighting disappeared (still an issue)

I can reproduce this in OSX 10.10.3 1.5.1svn r20224 by
1) New document
2) Make some text frame, and put some text.
3) Open the story editor and select some text.
4) cmd+tab (to toggle to another application)
5) cmd+tab (to toggle back to Scribus)
Highlight is disabled

This is not a problem in a text frame for example, just in Story Editor.

What i reproduce is : selection is lost when CTRL+TABing back to Scribus, but not quite the position...

My cursor position is not lost, but this might be because i use an OS tweak that i need for scribus use : "Give focus to window under mouse pointer". When this tweak is not ON, it requires a click on the text to give focus to the window, and of course this click places the editing cursor at the place of the click, thus loosing original editing cursor position.

It's kindof the same issue as 0010584, in different circumstances. 0010584 is why i had to install that OS tweak, to make glyph inserts and edits userfriendly.

It's not 'ecological' that scribus requires a global OS change for its correct own use.

Recall : On Ubuntu 14.04, install the Unity Tweak Tool + in the "Windows management" > "More tools" parameters, set the "Focus Behaviour" to "Auto-raise", and the "Focus mode" to "Sloppy". With such parameters, the focus is automatically given to the window the mouse hovers, thus enabling to type in the edited text frame without loosing editing place.

bubu,
I can't can still reproduce result "a" which is "The cursor is on the first character."
Result "b" I can reproduce the fact that highlighting has disappeared. See gif

Edit: for some reason: I can't always reproduce "a"

I confirm I can reproduce it on my Debian unstable box, with Qt 5.6 and scribus built out of svn r21089.

And nice to notice that 12091 fixed that other annoying thing, thanks! :)
