Summary | 0011820: Workflow fix: Dialog path to 'unembed image' doesn't remember previously used image folder
Description | There is a default path that is proposed when opening a scribus file and there is a default path that is proposed to import an image When an image is embeded, un-embeding it requires to specify what file should be used to replace it. The dialog that enables this uses the scribus-files default path. It should use the current image-open default path.
Additional Information | Steps to reproduce : 1) Open a new Document with image frame 2) Import image in frame : notice the path. It's the last (=previously used) image folder 3) Embed image using context sub-menu (tick appears in sub-menu) or Item > Image > Embed Image 4) Un-embed image using the same option in context submenu (notice the folder path) The folder that is proposed to save the image is the documents default folder. This report claims that proposed folder should be the same as when importing an image : it should be the last (=previously used) image folder. FYI: image-import-due-to-unembed is unembed action. "Import" is not proper since its rather export from sla to disk.

Where in preferences do you see the default image path? We just have a Document path. I believe the one from the image importer comes from historical usage not a preference... |
cbradney says : <<the image importer comes from historical usage not a preference... >> maybe but whatever the reason, can't the historical usage for image-import also benefit for image-import-due-to-unembed ? |
Relationship with 0011776 ? |
Jluc, can you explain "image-import-due-to-unembed" |
Its not related with 0011776 image-import-due-to-unembed is unembed action. "import" is not proper since its rather export from sla to disk. Steps to reproduce : - create doc with image frame - import image in frame : notice the path. It's the last (=previously used) image folder - embed image using context sub-menu (tick appears in sub-menu) - unembed image using the same option in context submenu : the folder that is proposed to save the image is the documents default folder. This report claims that proposed folder should be the same as when importing an image : it should be the last (=previously used) image folder. |

This fix helps to save time because it helps improve workflow by removing an extra step. This would be a useful commit. |
