Summary | 0012062: Include scripts in Scribus distribution
Description | JLuc messaged me on Flickr a few months ago and I just saw it. He was asking me to license certain scripts I had posted to the wiki as GPL3 so they could be included in Scribus. I have done this. Here are the scripts on (http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Category:Scripts) that I have now licensed as GPL3: Scale an image to Fill a Frame Proportionally Align an Image in its Frame (old version) Image Wizard: Scale and Align an Image Image Wizard Advanced Split Image Across a Gutter Discovering an Item's Properties Someone wrote a newer version of Align an Image in its Frame that works with newer versions of Scribus. That code would probably need to be included in the Image Wizard scripts if you wanted them to work properly. I hope this helps.

If you are prepared to relicence to GPL2 for Scribus, then we can distribute, otherwise, thanks, but it will need to stay only on the wiki. thanks Craig |

OK, I've re-licensed them under GPL2. |

Just to be sure: Have the scripts been written for Scribus 1.4.x and the current Scripter, or do they require Scripter2? Otherwise I'm all for including them in 1.4.4, as they seem to be really useful. As for 1.5/1.6 and Scripter2, some of this may become redundant, but we're not there yet. |

hi kunda, i've listed them in a ticket for the script downloader. as long as scripts are not "easyer" to run from the scribus GUI, i'm not really keen to think it's a good idea to add "small" script to the ones distributed with scribus. |
|
the "image wizard advanced" should be taken as an inspiration for implementing the features in scribus itself. i don't see why it should not be possible to apply those actions to multiple images at the same time. the part about selecting parts of group is imo a bit specific to the author needs (which is a very good thing! but not a reason for including into scribus) and it can be solved in a general case by selecting the single items of a group by holding down the alt key. |
|
the "Image Wizard: Scale and Align an Image" could be useful. but, again, i prefer to see it implemented in scribus itself. for the short term, x-pos and y-pos should accept the widht and height "variables" (as they are in the frame's width and height field). this would at least solve the bottom / right alignment (but not the center). |
|
p.s.: otherwise, it would be nice to have the align part in the "align and distribute dialog" |
