in my eyes there is a big issue in scribus: the visible labels (or a representation of them) are internally used for tracking layout elements.

this happens, as far as i know, for colors and seems to happen for layers, too.

i think that we should switch to pure ids (growing numbers or hashes) and avoid using the human readable / human editable / human translatable / machine translatable labels for that.

this specific issue should probably be fixed, but is not that urgent, since it seems to be rather unlikely that people edit .sla document in different UI languages or that they would bother if default resources are named in a different language when getting documents in that language...

it's more an issue when testing documents for development reasons...

The column header definitely change. The layer names are under user control and as a consequence stop being translatable the moment they are generated.
