Summary | 0014363: Display update when preparing pdf
Description | When creating a pdf, Scribus opens an empty dialog but doesnt update display. For some documents, it takes several seconds before display is updated. During this delay, see how the screen looks like on attached image. It seems this delay is due to heavy computation that have to be done to init before the actual PDF output. When later updated, the dialog show the progress of page creations. Typicaly, it takes 15 seconds before display is updated on a 12 pages document made of a single linked text frame chain on an Intel Core™ i7 @ 2.20GHz × 8 with 16Go RAM. Could the screen display be updated as soon as the dialog is displayed and before launching heavy computations ? It could display text : "Preparing PDF output".
