Summary0014854: Scribus does not look native on Linux
DescriptionEven though Scribus uses QT, it does not look native on my desktop (Arch Linux fully up to date). Look at the buttons and controls in the screenshots. It looks like it does not pick up the correct look and feel. The menu looks especially wrong.

Here are some screenshots using QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=adwaita scribus
It looks better, but size scaling is way wrong (HiDPI). Some dialogs don't even fit vertically (3200x1800 res).

Using: QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=adwaita scribus

Text is scaled correctly but the rest is small. Without QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0
Probably the most "usable" config at the moment.

Please try with building against Qt 5.9.

QT 5.9 was just pushed in Arch Linux testing repo. I tried it and it works fine with QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=adwaita on another testing laptop without HiDPI. I didn't try it with 5.8 on this machine so I don't know if it was already working. I will report back in a few days once QT5.9 hits stable repos on my XPS 13 with HiDPI scaling.

Built against QT 5.9. Same problem in a HiDPI environment.

I think the bug could be renamed though. With QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE, it does look native. The issue is related to HiDPI scaling that is not calculated correctly,

We make no attempt to deal with hiDPI screens as Qt hadn't supported it. We might in the future, and this is therefore a duplicate bug.

well, hdpi should slowly be prioritized a bit more...

a couple of high profile users have been pissed by the lack of support of they monitors during the last year...

supporting fahad could be a way to get somebody to work on this...
