Summary | 0015186: Preflight check for "Overprint" (overprint white is not printed)
Description | "Overprint" is a background color option ("Surimpression"). The other choice is " knockout" (en for fr "Défonce"). When printed, it is NOT printed. AFAICT, it's because "overprint white" means "no ink" or "do nothing". This is the correct behaviour for overprint white BUT when viewed on screen it is displayed as normal white because no FOSS lib exists to perform these rather heavy computations. And when exported to PDF, all tested linux viewers (evince, xpdf, okular) display it as normal white too, and afaik, they dont provide any option to change that. This global behaviour is strongly misleading. Request is : plz create a new preflight warning that is triggered for all cases of "Overprint" background. The professional that really wants to use this feature (even when s⋅he cannot check the result on screen) can uncheck this warning in the preflight prefs.
