Summary | 0017487: unify the display of warnings
Description | on canvas, scribus has multiple ways to warn the user about issues with items. on the other side, in the preflight verifier, the warnings are shown in the same way. in a quick try i could find: - empty image frame (no warning canvas, only in the preflight verifier); - an overflowing text frame has a small box in the lower right corner; - an image frame with an invalid link has a big red cross and the file name; - an image with low resolution has a brownish warning triangle in the lower right corner. - item outside of the page - i guess that there is some sort of warning, when displaying a render frame while the current scribus has not "correctly" configure the render frames and/or there is an error when rendering the frame on the other side, an empty text frame has a different icon in the preflight verifier (and no warning on canvas) this having been said: - most of them are shown in the same way in the preflight verifier; - and only the overflowing text frame has a tooltip with more information. i suggest that if if they are the same in the preflight verfiier, then there should also be a uniform warning system on the canvas: - with a way to get more information about the issue (like the tooltip on the overflowing text frame) - it should allow -- in the future -- a way to silence the warning (for a specific item and warning; both on canvas and in the preflight verifier)
