Summary | 0017489: Make the Context menu Usable Again
Description | For some time now, the Scribus context menu has been a container for actions that some people wanted to have in them. It was growing a bit too big and in the same go as for the menus, everything has been put in sub menus. With the addition of the Content palette and the Action Search, has basically not useful anymore for quick reaching to an action / option or for discovering what can be done. Currently, the Scribus context menu is a "bad" average of Gimp approach of including everything and the nice slim Context menu in Inkscape (as a reference, I'm attaching a sample screenshot from Inkscape showing one its context menus picked at random). I'd wish that Scribus goes here the same path Inkscape has gone: - Reduce the number of entries in the context menu. - Only use sub menus when it's really necessary.
