Summary | 0017596: search/replace in text editor not aware of content modifications
Description | Search replace tool in the Text editor is not aware of the changes applied to its content
Steps To Reproduce | Select a text frame right click on the frame / Edit text in Text editor in the text editor window click on the search/replace icon Search for "word1" and replace all with "word2" Keep the search replace windows open and now search for "word2" The tool doesn't find any "word2" in the text Close the search replace windows, open it again, same happens you have to apply changes to frame for search/replace tool to be aware of the new words introduced Same thing happens if you only add text in the text editor and use search / replace without applying to frame. The search/Replace is not connected to the text editor content but to the frame text content.
Additional Information | reproduced in 1.6.4 windows and Mac reproduced in 1.7.0 too

don't use the text editor! 'serch and replace' works direct in the frame (and there it won't miss the changes…) small changes and fixes won't make the text editor really useful in it's current state. |

I guess that if it does not work, we should remove the search and replace from the story editor menus. |
