Summary0017612: On renaming "Master pages"
DescriptionLanguages are changing and nowadays, it's not seem to be a good idea to use the term "master", except for some very specific meanings.

In Scribus the term "Master pages" and when we introduce it we always write "It some sort of 'page template'".

Other similar DTP packages have moved to other terms or in the documentation always define the "Master pages" as being page templates.

I'm open to other terms, but I would suggest to replace the idea of "Master pages" by "Page templates" and use the shorthand "Template" whenever it's clear that we're not talking about "Document templates".

Of course, this only applies to the English version. I have not checked the other languages.

i'm not sure about this change. as long as our master pages are almost static backgrounds, i wouldn't call them 'templates'. (in other dtp software frames on page templates can be filled with independent content…)

I guess is was also true, when they were still called Master Pages everywhere...

I think I second @utnik. Master pages are more like static backgrounds. "Master page" and "Template" hold different meanings imho, at least for now.

Please elaborate more if you meant something we missed.
