| Summary | 0017710: Making the searching in the Preference / Document Setup plaisant and efficient | ||||
| Description | This is a follow up of 0017697 . We probably need: - A better way to highlight the matches in the dialog (LO does nothing; Inkscape has a nicer blue tone for the background of the matching item, plus bold and underline for the matching characters: looks like a good solution to me) - A way to show in which tab the matches are (Inkscape does not have tabs; LO has the same issue as Scribus with sub sections in the tree) - A way to start typing the search term, without the need to click on the search field (LO is automatically activating the search field and one can just type; In Scribus pressing a key selects the next sections starting with that letter; tab switches to the search field: I would switch the behavior: input field activated by default, tab switches to the lest pane and, then, the key press selects the next section) | ||||

I have changed the blue, however I do not plan to rearrange tabs. I am fine with things not being 100% obvious - this is not MS Publisher, people can move through the tabs. I have set the focus to the search field, and also enabled the clear button in the field. |

Would it possible to have a blue background in the label of tabs that contain matches? |

Probably, we can try something like that |
