| Description | a suggestion not a bug. is there anyway scribus can export a reduced size pdf? currently to send a pdf to a printer business i export pdf out of scribus which makes huge pdf files. then i have to open the huge file in Acrobat and then save as a reduced size pdf. thank you Wayne Fowler. my use case i send files to newspaperclub to print newspapers. | ||||

I assume your PDFs contain many images. Try limiting their max resolution to 300 DPI, through Export PDF dialog or preferences. |

yes the files many images. adobe reduces file size by making the pdf compatible with 9.0 or greater which creates a high quality print. is there a way scribus can also do that on pdf export? i export from scribus as x1a but i don't need backwards compatibility prior to Acrobat 9.0. thanks qirat. i think scribus is superior to indesign and iwant to keep using this wonderful program!:) wayne Fowler |

When the Save as PDF dialog opens, check the option "Maximum Image Resolution" and input 300 (see screenshot). See if that makes a difference. If it does, you can also set this to be default in the preferences for future projects. |
