Steps To Reproduce1. Start selecting text with mouse dragged from the right to left.
2. When you reach the beginning of the line, pull mouse more to the left (and a little up too).

I think that reading soerendanielkarch's patch for selecting text across chained text frames might help: I fear that Scribus gets -1 when the cursor is not in a "valid" frame and that's the reason why it tends to select the whole text to the start of the frame.
