Summary0017871: Tables: Cut/copy/paste is not working
DescriptionNeither the right click menu > Edit > Cut/Copy/Paste,
nor the keyboard shortcuts;
nothing works.
Steps To Reproduce1. Create a table and type some text in a cell
2. Select the text and do Ctrl+C or Ctrl+X
3. Ctrl+V (nothing)

I just tested again. It does not work in 1.7.2 flatpak either.

Kindly test with the attached .sla. If things worked fine at first, try getting out of table edit mode (clicking out of table), and reentering. Try multiple times if you could.

I think I have found the the way for you to reproduce. This is what I did and what it produced:

1. Double click a word in the cell to select it. (try where there are more than one word): Ctrl+X does not work.
2. Mouse drag to select entire text in the cell (drag a little more than the width of the entire text): Ctrl+X does not work.
3. Do Ctrl+A in a cell: Ctrl+X works fine.
4. Mouse drag to select any middle part of the text (as long as the selection does not touch either ends of the entire text): Ctrl+X works fine.

Something is completely broken there...
It's not just the copy paste.

- Open the attached file
- Select by double click the middle word in the middle cell
- Delete it by pressing backspace (or type random letter like t...)
- Undo Undo Undo...

I've created a new document with a 3x3 table and three words in each cell.
Cutting a word by selecting with drag creates three undo actions: two resizes and one cut.
Double clicking does select a word, but I can't copy / cut it either.

Resizing a row also registers two undo actions: one is the resizing of the row, the other probably the resizing of the "text frame" in the cell.
