| Summary | 0017898: TABLES: No vertical alignment option when cell/row/column or whole table is selected | ||||
| Description | When you click inside the cell, the option is there in the PP. But when you select a cell/row/col or whole table only the table options appear. I understand that might make sense, yes. But: - the vertical alignment option should be added to Cell Style widget at least? - or somewhere where the user could set the vertical alignment of text for the whole table - currently, I have to go cell by cell (putting the cursor there) and select vertical alignment in PP | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | - Select a cell/row/column or whole table - look in PP, no option for vertical alignment of text | ||||

The vertical alignment should probably not be in the paragraph palette. It, obviously, does not apply to the paragraph, but to the whole frame. Try to write three short paragraphs in a single frame. Select some text in the middle paragraph and center it vertically: the whole content of the frame (obviously) get centered. On the other side, it would make sense to to have the vertical alignment in the table properties. I think that we have already a ticket for having both the text and cell properties at the same time in the content palette. The solution is probably to rather move the properties that are specific to the table and the cell to the properties palette instead. Indeed, the cells are some sort of frame... |

I agree, @ale. It does not belong in paragraph style (imho too). On the other hand, the Cell Style widget is mostly empty. The properties that belong to it, should be moved there. I thought it the same way that cell is a kind of frame so the vertical alignment of text should surely be there in the Cell Style widget. (Also the Text style property for tables selecting a paragraph style for ehich I already created 0017883) |
