Summary0002735: Live DTP CD: missing Polish fonts in GUI and text frames
DescriptionAs described on the mailing list, I miss my Polish glyphs in Scribus menus and text frames, even if I launch Live DTP CD with lang=pl option and apply to the text frame one of the "right" fonts, like Luxi. Polish glyphs are always replaced by rectangulars.
Additional InformationLive DTP CD from October 19, 2005

This IMNSHO is an upstream issue with debian's refusal to ship qtconfig and a proper qt.rc file by default with qt3 packages. This is not an issue with Suse, Redhat/Fedora or Mandrake - nor in Win32 or Aqua.

Debian's qt packaging is split into too many pieces and unobviously name packages for end-users.

Peter, please mind that this issue is NOT about Debian, it is about LIVE DTP CD made by igzebedze, which uses XFCE and NOT the GNOME. It means, even if this is about missing qtconfig, igzebedze can include the missing config files into his ISO and solve the problem. Closing this issue before this can be done means loosing some worthy info for the Live DTP CD author.

No, I wont close this, until it is sorted. :-)

Both Craig and I have had some extended chats in IRC with Bostjan, so nothing will be lost.

Cheers,
Peter

Including qtconfig _and_ some sane qt settings in the home directory of the default user (e.g. Verdana or Sans as GUI font face, and the same Gui font size as of the current XFCE desktop) would solve the problem for this LIVE CD, i presume.
