Summary0003310: Resize image keeping unproprtional size
DescriptionWould it be possible to:
- give a certain scale to an image in a frame, with no proportionnality.
- and then reduce or maximize (fr:"agrandir") the frame, keeping the same proportions.
Example: I have a frame with an image, whith manual scale. H:90%, V:80% (of course, it's never that kind of numbers!!)
I want to reduce it one half, in order to have H:45%, V:80%

On Xpress, you can do Ctrl+shift and then resize the frame with the mouse: the scale doesn't move.

Very useful...

Thank you.

Dont you mean control resize using the bottom right frame handle?

Not, because ctrl + bottom right frame handle only works when you have "Scale to frame size" and not with "free scaling".
What I mean is to have a free scaling, not proportionnal (an "anamorphose") and then keep those proportions when you reduce the frame (the image is reducing in the same time than the frame, but not loosing its proportions).
If you can try on XPress, you'll se what I mean (sorry it's hard to explain in english).

No, I can't try Xpress, .. you want to scale the image when the frame is scaled too.. correct?

I would find this useful, too.

what i would expect is something like

- load image into pictureframe
- adjust image inside the frame to the appropriate position - maybe cropping it inside the frame
- being able to resize the frame and the image scaling with that automatically

(also see id number 0001562)

This missing feature makes it very time consuming to fit in images with a custom shape. After resizing the frame one has to adjust the scale by trial and error or by manual calculation.

It's a good idea. I propose something like a checkbox to lock the image proportion and position inside the frame, then it would be possible to change the scale of the frame (with mouse, ctrl-mouse or measure in properties) and the image follows.
