Summary0004422: LinuxLibertine Bold Underline not correctly subsetted
DescriptionSee attached document.
There are 6 lines:
1. LinuxLibertine Bold
2. LinuxLibertine Bold Underline
3. LinuxLibertine Bold
4. LinuxLibertine Regular
4. LinuxLibertine Underlined
4. LinuxLibertine Regular

With the option "subset all fonts" "LinuxLibertine Bold Unterline" looks like "LinuxLibertine Underlined" in the exported PDF.
The PDF with embedded fonts looks ok to me.
Additional InformationI used LinuxLibertine 2.2.0 TTF fonts.

Don't use that underlined fonts.

a) Scribus assumes that spaces are spaces and sometimes does not render them; as you can see if you compare both versions.
b) Scribus positions chars in a way which might disconnect the underline bars.
c) The Bold Underline font doesn't have a consistent x-height in the PDF with embedded fonts. They probably have bad hinting.
d) if the bold version relies on hinting to be bold (just a guess), Scribus cannot replicate that effect when subsetting.

According to the README there is no hinting:
"-Hinting is still unfinished (on the other hand, Hinting isn't always the best way for rendering on screen (especially on Linux-systems). There's an extra variant for Windows-users who want to have a hinted variant)."

Any sane way to check the fonts? What about a wiki page about checking and testing fonts?

I will write an extra chapter for the new manual.
