Summary0008463: Pressing & hold ALT as usefull help for moving Object in a pile
DescriptionWhen you have more than one object at one place and you just want to move a object below some other, it would be helpfull by press and holding the ALT key to have only the "hand" tool and you can click anywhere on the screen (no new object whould be selected).

So you can only move the object selected with ALT+mousekey. (good example here inkscape, too)

in scribus it's ctrl+click. i don't know if it is a good idea to switch to alt+click since in X11 world it's normally captured by the window manager for moving windows.

No no. I'm talking about "gripping" an "allready selected" object without pointing the mouse "above" it. Like I said, it is useful if you having trouble to "pick" it.

See inkscape as a reference. Ctrl+click let you move the object straight "if" you already have it.

Oh, you're right. Scribus already have this funktion. But under windows, it's shift+click.
It's exactly what I was looking for, but unfortunately that overwrite the ability to "add" some selections. In most programms, shift is used to select more than one object. A simply click is still adding frames, but if you want to shift+click & draw a box, it whouldn't work.

So I think ALT is a better key for just moving the selected frames than shift.

No, that shortcut comes from old preferences. Delete them, and it will be Ctrl+Click

Where can I delete them? I made a fresh installation...

edit: OMG now I've got it. It only works when you only have ONE object!!! If you have more than one object, you can draw a box and add objects to the selection.... very good hidden. Puh. For me, shift means "add" something.... sorry. Isn't there any other way to do that?

edit2: ok sorry. You said that you changed it to crtl. Doesn't work yet, but I'll try later. Thanks both for the help anyway!!

C:/Document and Settings/Your_UserName/Application Data/Scribus. Delete the whole Scribus Directory.
