Summary | 0009408: Unable to change the size of a drop-cap
Description | Scribus fixes size of a drop-cap for good. I can alter size of a single character in two ways: first is making for this purpose a character style, applying it and fiddling in the style properities, the other way is opening properities with this char selected and changing it there. I can also alter the size of a character in this two dialogues in two ways: altering its size (single value, size is given in in points) or changing its scale (this are two values with % unit). (There is also a bug in styles dialogue that will make this work pretty funny, at least under Windows the only failproof way of dealing with character style is clicking RMB on the style in dialogue (F3 should pop it up) and choose to apply or to edit it.) But even after sorting this UI things out... Here comes the most important part: I was unable to change anything related to height of a drop-cap. No matter if I have been fiddling with size, scale, in character style or text properities, the size seemed to be set in stone. I even thought that it would help to change line spacing, but lowering it affected whole paragraph, which may be a bug too.
Steps To Reproduce | Make a paragraph style with drop caps (with first letter of 2 lines height) Try to change size of the first letter of the paragraph with the above style applied from being 2 lines tall to more like 1,5 line.
Additional Information | It holds my production in Wesnoth Tactics card game. I can provide you with a complete file with the card template we need to alter the drop cap size in from 2 lines to more like 1,5 line.

Laser, can you reproduce ? |
|
I cannot reproduce with 1.4.6 The dropcap is 2 lines, no matter the font size, line spacing or anything else. I also can change the size of the drop cap by directly editing it (even in the advanced settings) - no matter if this makes sense^^ I can change the size by editing the paragraph style. |

I'm not sure we're understanding OPs original issue. >> Try to change size of the first letter of the paragraph with the above style applied from being 2 lines tall to more like 1,5 line. I can't make the Dropcap 1.5 lines |
