Summary | 0010232: menu fonts in general preferences are 69 pt. Dialog box too large to fit on screen must force quit
Description | The menu fonts in the general preference dialog are set to 69 points. This causes the dialog box to be so big it doesn't fit on the screen. Because I can't get to the lower right to reset or OK a change, the whole program is inoperable and I have to force quit. I've tried reinstalling, but that doesn't work. I've tried redownloading and that doesn't work. I think menu font size should be limited so that a user is allowed to get to the cancel, ok buttons no matter what size the menu fonts happen to be.
Steps To Reproduce | I start Scribus and select Preferences from the menu. The Preference dialog is modal so from then on I can not gracefully shut down the program.
Additional Information | Bug name is not useful. Should be something like: Menu fonts can be set way out of proportion which warps Scribus UI

69 points? How do you get this? I dont know how Mac OS works, but in Linux I can move window even if it is larger than my screen size by holding Alt key and drag it. |
|
I can see the middle third of the number in the point size box. It looks like 69. I'll re-download a new copy of the program (I removed it from my mac as unusable) and try Alt key drag. I will post a note if I find 1) the new copy doesn't have the problem or 2) Alt key drag enables me to work around it, and 3) if it doesn't. I was hoping to find some configuration file that I could delete to bring the menu font size back to default (since I couldn't get to the default button on the bottom of the dialog. Is there such a thing? |
|
The new download doesn't work either. I uploaded a Grab image illustrating the problem. I don't know of a way to shrink the Preference window so I can get to the window controls on the bottom right. Unfortunately the Alt key drag doesn't work. Neither does shift-Alt, fn-Alt, control-Alt, or command-Alt. |

You can set menu font size in Preferences > User Interface > Main Window I was able to reproduce the issue this way. The font size that starts to change the interface this way starts at 18pts. Added Screenshot. OSX 10.10.3 1.5.1svn r20227 |
