Summary0011773: aligning font centered or right does not work
DescriptionEven within the same document, aligning text centered or right sometimes does and sometimes does not work. I tried to figure out what the problem is, but can't. Overlapping of frames, text wrap, change font, create a new frame purging manually assigned styles etc. sometimes helps, sometimes not.
Sometimes reopening the same document where alignment worked and save it under a new name will destroy alignment.

There are several other bugs that are similar, but have been reported on older versions, that's why I decided to file a new bug.

What version of Scribus are you using?

craig : 1.5 (since document cant be opened with 1.4)

Alma : i've tested your doc and found the said frames (one on each page) and i could align these left or right or center at will. So either "i'm lucky"® or the issue is not reproduced. Is there something special to trigger the issue ? Have you tried on another OS / machine ?

The exact Scribus version is:
03 September 2013
Build ID: C-C-T-F-C1.12.14
Ghostscript-Version: 9.07

I tried on two computers, both Kubuntu 13.04 with backports ppa (KDE 4.11 updates), but not on windows. I could try delete/rename the .scribus directory and look whether that solves the problem.

I renamed the .scribus folder to get rid of any changes I might have made to the settings, but the problem persists. I also tried to set the text to left, save-close-reopen and then set it to centered/right, but that didn't work either.

On one occasion, when moving the frame around, sometimes the text would jump to center alignment, but when moving back, it woulrd return left. But all frames are on top levels in the top layers. I also deleted all obsolete layers I had from former layouts, but to no avail.

Anything else I could try?

Scribus 1,5svn, 03 September 2013, Build ID: C-C-T-F-C1.12.16, Ghostscript-Version: 9.10 under Kubuntu 13.10 still has the same problem.

Can you describe more precisely what problem is with the uploaded doc : what part should we look at ? what is the internal name of the frame we should look at ? Which paragraphe ? How should it be aligned ?

Just opened the uploaded document with newest Scribus version (Scribus-Version 1.5.0.svn, 12 Februar 2014 Build ID: C-C-T-F-C1.12.16-64bit Ghostscript-Version: 9.10 ) and it works...
Anyway, frames affected were text 26 (page 2) , text 27 (page 1) and text 18 (page 3)
