Tested with different pdf and tiff - self created and downloaded.

Pdf is not recognized as CMYK. Also when imported to Krita, only Image(Graphic)Magick (identify) can do that here.
Tiff works well.

It's not the Picture Browser.
When you import CMYK pdf or get it as image, pdf is RGB. (Tested with color picker)

No change required/won't fix. For PDF, saying if it is RGB or CMYK requires to parse all PDF content... which is very complex and would take lots of time. But this would not even make sense to do that as each elements in a PDF can use its own colorspace. And in the end, PDF imported in images frames are handled as RGB.

In that case, the solution would be not to display any colour space at all and show "N/A" instead.
