Summary0013248: choose preferences directory from the command line
Descriptionwe have a --prefs argument that seems to point to a preferences file.

i gave it a test and it does not seem to be working (correctly).

it would be more useful to modify it to point to a directory that (will) contain(s) the scribus preferences.
it should work in the same way as scribus works with the .scribus directory in the home.

if there is an agreement, that this would be a useful change, i'm willing to work on it.

it could be useful for kunda's efforts in setting up a regression testing environment.

The --prefs command line options works with scribusXXX.rc files which stores scribus preferences. The prefsXXX.xml contains mostly GUI state data.

well, it would be nice to see the files to be rename those file to match what their content is :-)

scribusXXX.rc to preferencesXXX.xml
prefsXXX.xml to ????.xml (sessionXXX.xml?)

my goal is to be able to start in a known state (and this might need both a given preferences and session file...).

what's the goal of the --prefs command as it is implemented now?

actually the scribus rc files were supposed to move to the xml file but it didnt all move over. There should only be one file really.

how does one start a new prefs file location ?
When i just enter a random named prefs file in to the CLI i get
Preferences directory /home/user/.scribus-test/ does not exist, aborting.
