Summary | 0009831: Doc prefs do not save PDF/X-3 info string
Description | When exporting to pdf, in the pre-press tab, the pdf x/3 destination cannot be changed. The selection reads "fogra27L CMYK Coated Press". The printer though wants me to set fogra39. I have downloaded the 2009 profiles from ECI. I suspect its "ISO coated" is based on fogra39. I have set this as my printer profile in the preferences' "color management" tab. How to get pdf x/3 export fogra39? Thank you in advance -- peter

I should say, this is with the 1.4 rc1 from the lucid-bleed ubuntu repository. |
You have to setup document profiles in Document Preferences > Color Management |
But I did so, In "Preferences…" as well as in "Document Setup…". I also changed the pre-flight check to X3. The "Pre-Press" - "PDF/X3 Output Intent" - "Output Profile" menu remains dim, like all of the section. In the pdf export dialogue as well as in the document set-up pdf preferences tab, The Fogra27 profile is selected and cannot be changed. |
Sorry, but once PDF/X-3 is selected in General Tab, the "Output Profile" field is enabled here. |
Ahh, now I see, general tab in pdf-export option "Compatibility". I wonder why this did evade me. Thank you for your patience. On http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Getting_and_installing_ICC_profiles there is a bad link for the ECI profiles which should read: http://www.eci.org/doku.php?id=en:downloads and the file being http://www.eci.org/lib/exe/fetch.php?id=de%3Adownloads&cache=cache&media=downloads:icc_profiles_from_eci:eci_offset_2009.zip Regards Peter |
Another note, as I cannot add to Issue 0003112 The pdf/x3 info string is always automatically set to the basename of the documents filename. Any changes to this will be reverted when closing the "Document Setup" dialogue. |
