Summary0015051: Scribus doesn't export a big format to image
DescriptionI'm trying to export a project with Width: 60cm x Height: 300cm to an JPG image but the output is blank image (sometimes entirely black, sometimes white).

The project has:
-A single page
-two layers: the upper contains 4 lines with 0,05cm x 1cm and the lower a imagem covering the entire page

This is the output set: .jpg / Quality; 100% / Resolution: 150 dpi / Size: 100%.
Steps To ReproduceCreate a new document with Width: 60cm x Height: 300cm. Insert an imagem covering the entire page, try to export like this .jpg / Quality; 100% / Resolution: 150 dpi / Size: 100%.

Tested Linux Mint 18.2; r22224

I can't reproduce. Works well.

Tested on Windows. Can't reproduce either. If it fails, that means your computer has likely not enough free memory.

I have 4GB memory. Memory is full and computer used the swapp memory too. So, not simple story.
It is very big picture.

I'm performing some tests here, with a big single image, multiple images, output to PNG, JPG... And I'll tell what I'll get

Here, we print vinilic wallpapers among other products, and I use most of time Inkscape, Gimp, Krita and Scribus.

The solution was to reduce the image's DPI. As jghali pointed, maybe the image size was bigger than the memory to handle it, I guess. Anyway thanks a lot.

should scribus detect and report insufficient memory for a specific task, instead of just doing something wrong?

I actually had not thought by this point of view, but if this could represent a good improvement to Scribus (and its users) as a whole and the programmers could do so, yes, I guess it should be so. Thanks for your precious time.
