Summary | 0010954: allow text edit rulers to be local to the frame
Description | most of the time i like the way the rulers for text (indents, tabulators) is placed at the top of the window, in the main rulers. but from time to time, mostly when i'm really working with tabs, i'd like to have them as close as possible to the text. i wonder if we could not find a way to optionally pull that ruler out of the main ruler and put in a more accessible place? what about having it floating around (by a double click on it?) and letting the user place it where she better things it should be? (by default it would sit on top of the frame, but the user could pull it down, at any place inside the frame; once pulled down it would appear in each text frame until you "close" it again...) just an idea for a possible future implementation...
