Summary0015641: Re-ordering text frames causes crash
DescriptionIf a page has several text frames, trying to reorder the level of each frame as shown in the outline causes a signal 11 crash.
Steps To ReproduceCreate several text frames on a page. If a contents page is created, then the text frames might not appear in the desired order. To re-order the frames to get them into the preferred order it should be possible to drag them in outline view. This causes a signal 11 crash. Scribus then has to be force-quit. The only way to re-order the text frames safely is to cut and paste them in the desired order.

An alternative, and perhaps simpler, way to reorder the frames is to use the 'raise-lower' functions.

unable to reproduce under macOS 10.14.4 with scribus 1.5.4. (btw. where do you have an macOS 10.14.5 from?)

Unable to reproduce either with current 1.5.5.svn on Windows. A sample document with precise steps to reproduce might help.

macos 10.14.5 is a beta, but I have always had this problem for many versions of macos, so I would be surprised if it were related to that. The precise steps required are as I describe. I don't know how else to put it. Open outline view, try to drag text frames into a different order, i.e. re-arrange their levels. For me, Scribus always freezes with a Signal 11. I've attached an example document. Expect lots of missing images!

just tried with your file – couldn't find a way to crash/freeze scribus. rearranging positions in the 'outline' window works fine.

I did some tests too, I couldn't trigger a crash either.

Strange that no-one else here seems to see this. Is there a log somewhere I could upload that might contain a clue?
