Summary | 0015743: Replace the text formatting in preferences > tools > text by default styles
Description | instead of setting texts formatting values in the preferences and document settings, the user should be able to modify the default styles when no document is open (in the same way she can define the default colors). i'm not sure that this is the best way to do it, but it looks pretty strait forward and uses a mechanism that is already in scribus. (currently, there is no way to set the default language for the hyphenation. instead of adding it to the preferences, i really think it's time to move the text formatting off the preferences.)
