Summary0017221: Named gradients can only be linear
Description- Edit > Colors and Fills
- Add a Gradient
- Only linear gradients can be created (there is no choice for the type)
- It's not possible to define the "Move Vector" values

It would also be useful to allow the creation of the gradients from the Properties palette (store the current gradient with a name).

Hi ale,

Is it really a bug? As far as I know, it was never working like this.

I like the idea, but I would like to discuss how the gradient vectors will specify without a page item that currently hold the absolute vector data uniquely for the applied gradient.

This is my proposal:
1. The gradient editor would need some visual preview of the gradient
2. The gradient vector data should be relative and not absolute any more (maximum extrema = 1)
3. We need a definition of how the relative vector data will apply to absolute page item dimension (option 1 or 2, I prefer option 1). A user could "override" the vector data in properties panel only for the selected item.

Named gradients can already be be applied to circular gradients, so I don't quite understand the issue here.

Hi jean,

that is true. If I understand the request correct it is about another aspect of gradients. At the moment you can create named gradients only as a color ramp (color value on ramp position) via Edit -> Colors and Fills. There is no option (as far as I know) where you can create a gradient with type and vector data without a page object. Each time you apply a named gradient to a page object you have to define the gradient vector again.
