Summary | 0017281: Adding hyperlinking as a text property
Description | It would improve the hyperlinking workflow to just use a field in a text frame's text properties to add hyperlinks. Currently, you have to draw frames over every place where you want an hyperlink to be and then promote this frame to a link.
Additional Information | A suggestion: I noticed that it is possible to import markdown text to text frames. Currently the importer ignores links in the markdown file. I'm speculating that a first step to implement this feature might be to just make the markdown importer process the links it founds in a markdown file.

@jghali is there any technical issues why this is not implemented? i can think that adding the hyperlinks in the pdf should not be a great issue. even if it has to be done by putting an hyperlink area on top of the text, scribus should already have code for calculating the bounding box around the specific text. i think that now that we have a "real" table of contents, we will probably have more requests for getting it to link to the titles it refers... would it help if we start thinking of a UI / user interaction for it? |
|
@ale well we have to add the ability to store hyperlinks at text level first, then the ability to modify them. Afterwards adding the hyperlinks in the pdf would indeed not be a great issue. |
|
well, for storing them in the .sla, i guess that it's not much different than storing the font assigned to a bunch of text... |
