Platform | Windows (64 bit) | OS | Windows 7 Premium (64 bit) | OS Version | SP1 - fully upda |
Product Version | 1.4.0svn
Summary | 0010361: Resize handles do not appear when attempting to resize program window
Description | Issue: After the program has launched, and a workspace has been generated (new or preexisting), attempting to resize the window by dragging works. However the cursor should turn into a double arrow when within the "drag" zone at the edges or corners. At this point, it does not do this.
Steps To Reproduce | Steps to reproduce: (begin with 1.4.0rc6 installed and working) 1. Launch program 2. Start a new project or open a preexisting project 3. Verify that the program's window is not maximized to cover the entire screen. Un-maximize it if it is. 4. Move the cursor so that it sits on (or very near) to any window edge or corner. Expected Results: The cursor turns into a double-arrow cursor, indicating that your cursor is within the "drag margin" of the window. Actual Results: The cursor does not chage shape. 5. left-click on the window edge and begin to drag it somewhere. Expected Results: 1. The cursor remains as a double-arrow. 2. The edge (or corner) of the window responds to the attempt to drag it by resizing in accordance with the mouse-drag input. Actual Results: 1. The cursor does not change shape (as noted above) 2. However the attempt to re-size the window does work.
Additional Information | This issue - though not mind-numbingly critical - is still very important as these changes in cursor shape are a part of the basic GUI paradigm for any windows user. Absent this cursor change it may appear that the window is NOT resizable. Note that in 1.3.3 (stable) the behavior was slightly different, but still wrong. In that version the double-arrow would appear when in the drag-zone, but would dissapear on button-down. The correct behavior is for the double-arrow cursor to appear when within any drag-zone, and to *remain* as the double-arrow when dragging to resize.
