Description | Inserting a glyph using the "Unicode search" returns a black box instead of the glyph. | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | Create a text frame. Click in it and do: Insert > Glyph... You get in the Character palette Use the Unicode search (second icon) Search for "parenthesis" Double-click 0028 left parenthesis The character appears as a black box in the Character palette Double click on it The character appears as an empty box in the text frame This has been reproduced with the left parenthesis, but also with other character (in particular the smiling face in OpenSymbol regular font). | ||||
Additional Information | This bug does not happen when using the "Hide/Show Advanced Palette" icon instead of the "Search Unicode" icon. | ||||

imo, the problem is related to the fact that when you insert a glyph from the unicode search dialog, there is no way to set the font to be used to display it... |
