Product Version | 1.4.3.svn
Summary | 0011698: not able to load or display vector graphics in image frames?
Description | in scribus 1.4.3 i can't import .svg files in image frames any more. this may not really be necessary, but sometimes it's convenient to make a text flow around a contour line. as in scribus up to 1.4.2 .svg files can be placed in image frames there is a compatibility problem. when opening a .sla file created in 1.4.2, this vector files aren't displayed or exported to .pdf any more. in standard layout view, they are marked with a red cross and the file name. the 'preflight verifier' reports them as missing images. at least inside the 1.4 branch the .sla files should be compatible…
Steps To Reproduce | try to place a .svg file inside an image frame ? leads to the red cross with the file name. place a .svg file inside an image frame in scribus 1.4.2, save the file and reopen it in 1.4.3 ? same result…
Additional Information | tested on mac os 10.6.8 and windows xp

Sorry, you could never load SVG files into image frames, only EPS, PS and PDF files. |
|
in 1.4.2 you can (at least in windows xp and mac os 10.6.8) – i'll try to upload a test file. |

the .sla frame opens correct in scribus 1.4.2 (with .svg in image frame). but in 1.4.3 it doesn't work – it may be a bug in the older version, but it's a bad one… i received a file and wasn't able to edit it… |
|
You could not and you cannot load SVG files into image frames, not in 1.4.2, not in 1.4.3, not in any other version. This never worked and is a feature that still has to be implemented. Stating anything else is like saying the sun revolves around the earth. |

screenshot of a svg in an image frame on mac os x and scribus 1.4.1. no idea why it works... but it does! i would be looking into this, but i'm busy trying to understand that "chariot of sun" thing... it's crazy: all my knowledge about our galaxy messed up through a single svg file loaded into an image frame. |
