Summary | 0001286: Integration of lcms monitor profiler within Scribus
Description | It would be fine to have the lcms monitor profiler integrated with or built-in into Scribus (either as a plug-in or as a part of Scribus), since getting it to run is rather difficult and tricky for the time being.

yes, integration would be great. together with profiles managment (like image managment)... |
Now, with the new open source profiler sourceforge.net/projects/lprof and Craig Ringer as one of its developers sourceforge.net/project/memberlist.php?group_id=146038 things look much better. |
Hal V Engel is doing a lot of great work reworking lprof at the moment. Once that's done it should be easier to use, easier to build, and have a few nice features. I'm not finding much time to work on it between Scribus, uni, and work personally, though I've almost finished the changes required to make it translatable. I actually had a simple plugin done a while ago, but never got around to doing the work to hook it into the Scribus UI properly. To be honest it's not an especially high priority. |
I think this is now invalid. The new lprof which replaces all functions of the old Qt GUI would seem to be too much to include as a part of Scribus. |
agreed with cbradney -- inclusion into Scribus is not more needed, since there is an easily installable profiler now. Adding the path to the lprof executable in "File > Preferences > External Tools" might be nice though (not very sure about it). |
That may create some expectations about when the profile is run that the current document or Scribus prefs are changed. I would prefer to request distro maintainers to put soft dependencies to lprof. If you agree Maciej, please close this as not an issue. |
