Summary | 0013783: Transparency of frame effects transparency of shadow
Description | I have tried to "abuse" the shadow effect to make a blurred background frame behind a text, but when setting frame color transparency to 0% (to have the nicest blur), the shadow will show nicely within scribus, but will not be visible in the exported pdf. I'm not sure whether this is a bug in the canvas drawing or the pdf export, but it's a bug for sure... ;-)

I guess this is because Scribus doesn't flatten transparency. Pdf/x-3 for example doesn't know transparency, in pdf/x-4 the result is ok. |
Just saw that it works with the newest daily build from Scribus ppa on launchpad (which says 1.5.2.svn, btw.). But it does not work on 1.5.0 |
It doesn't depend on the Scribus-Version, but on the pdf-version - is transparency allowed or not? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Document_Format |
Tested in 1.5.1 and 1.5.2.svn, in both case PF export match canvas display. As drop shadow requires use of transparency, usage of a PDF format >= 1.4 is required. |
