Summary0013842: Unable to change space between pages in the layout
DescriptionThere is about a page height of space between pages on the paste board in a multi page document. When I scroll down from the first page to the next page it appears like there are no other pages however when I scroll down enough the next pages appear.
Steps To Reproduce1. Create a new 4 page document set to double sided, Letter size, 36 point margins.
2. Set the view to View > Zoom > Fit to Height. Or set the zoom to something small so all the pages fit into view.
3. Scroll down from page 1 to the next pages.
Additional InformationI don't know if this is a bug or this behavior is intended to be so but I thought I would report just the same. The pages in the layout need to be closer together.

No issue here. Go to File, Document Setup, Display, Scratch Space, Gaps between pages and check what it is.

Interesting, I try to set the gaps between pages and it doesn't remember. See 13842.gif

Now I know. Thanks for pointing that out.

No other page layout program I've used in the past have I had to worry about resetting the page gap. It has always been set to a small size so I just never worried about changing it because it was always set by default at a comfortable size.

I would suggest changing the current default from 1000 pts to something smaller like 50 pts. I checked Scribus version 1.4.4 and the gap space is set to 40 pt by default.

The gap setting is remembered when it is changed in the Preferences and not just the document.

jghali,
Check out the gif I uploaded (13842.gif)
It shows that Scribus doesn't "remember" to save this pref setting.

somewhere both OP and myself found that the Gap size became 1000 instead of 40. How did this happen ?

There was indeed a unit conversion issue here. I fixed it.

utnik, can you recreate this issue? It's definitely a problem for me and OP but not for Craig. (FYI, you can find a nightly OSX dmg from https://sourceforge.net/projects/scribus/files/scribus-svn/1.5.2.svn/)

i'm not able to reproduce – just tested with scribus 1.5.1 (svn 21004) and 1.5.2 (nightlyBuild from may 6) under macOS 10.11.4
everything works fine.
